Okay, last night I was on the forum about to post a help wanted ad about going on ahead with my idea to make mock Tales of skits about Xanadu X between me and Sarah and I need a flash artist who's pretty good with consistency with characters, because everytime I draw myself I keep looking different. But there's a lot to explain and I'm not really allowed to post links to the story here unless the person who replied to my post asks for, so I have to explain what's going on at the same time I posted my Help Wanted Ad. I guess I also have to post that I needed voice actors for Sarah and me as well. I was about to post this thread, but I figured it'll be a better idea if asked you guys first to try and do it, since I'm sorry I forgot to ask you guys first. If you don't want to participate in this flash idea, will you please tell me what do you think about my help wanted ad.

Title Thread: Help with making a flash about UNORIGINAL Characters for skits

The Post: Wow, I thought the title would have more room than that. Well anyway this is the first time I'm going to try this. I've read the rules and look at the couple of posts and it seems like it's the right place. I want someone to work on animating two of my characters to act like Tales of characters (like Tales of Symphonia, Vesperia, and Abyss) as if they were in skits like them. Which is basically making profile pictures of them with different emotions and moving boxes and talking, if the flash artist I'm looking for played the Tales of series before, then you'll probably know what I'm talking about what I wanted to make with you. I'm not sure if this is easy or not, but I thought it might seem like good practice and something fun to do to past the time and all. I'll be providing the script for my characters if somebody had choose to accept it.

The reason I'm asking for a flash artist to do this, because I'm not confident in my art skills to try to do something like that since I have a problem with consistency. If I try to draw them they'll look different all the time for, especially for one character, myself. See, here's the first unoriginal character right here I'm pretty sure that I'll get flamed for that unless I give a good reason. But then again I still have to explain what's going one first, so here's the deal.

First of all I have to say that the setting is in somebody else's story that they made and he's pretty much allowed other people write in this world. So the characters I'm using are set in somebody else's world, I didn't make this setting and I'm doing all I can to follow his rules storywise. Though since this is really just a complication of silly skit conversations between me and my partner, I don't need to explain all of the rules of his setting since some of it is irrevelent in this project. But getting to know what this setting that the characters are living in is.

According to the original person's story, it all happened in a big anything-goes costume convention called Xanadu. In that convention a whole lot of people were dressed in costumes. Where people are dressed as fursuiters, cosplayers, video game characters comic book superheroes, regular heroes, war heroes, TV heroes, mythical creatures, spies, doctors, pirates, and even ninjas, pretty much every fandom in existance was attending this convention. Especially that one very special mask that caused a very big catastrophe, that was brought to the convention by the guy's main character of this story and didn't know that the mask was magical. The mask was made by some kind of Trickster God called Raven. When the main character wore the Raven mask the mask started to act up on his face and it's magic was releashed onto the entire convention and the hotel that was right next to it, transforming everyone into their costumes.

The transformation of the Raven's mask had many effects on the people that it had transformed but there are two main type of transformations that really affected the people the most. The first type of transformation is the regular physical transformation of the costume the victim will just become the costume they were wearing as and also gaining the powers, abilities, or traits of that costume based on the person's imagination of the costume's ability. Basically if you were dressed as a pirate then you will turn into a pirate and if you thought the pirate was only good at sword fighting, then you will become a pirate who is good at sword skills; however if you were dressed as a pirate who was only good at using guns then, you will become a pirate that is only good at using guns, but you won't have any sword fighting skills because you didn't think the pirate you dressed up as should be good at sword fighting. If you thought the pirate you dressed up as was good at both sword and guns then you become that type of pirate because of the Raven's magic.
The Second type of transformation that happens through the Raven's magic is the mental changes that the Raven's magic will do you. Basically, if you were pretending to be your costume and not as yourself then the Raven's magic will erasing your previous memories about yourself and will replace them with the fake memories you made up for your costume. For example if you were pretending to be Superman and know his entire past and history from one of the comics or TV then the Raven's magic will make you forget who you are, who you used to be, and replace them with all you know about Superman as your new memories as you turn into him completely becoming the big man himself. Another example of this type of transformation is that if you think the character your cosplaying will handle a situation in one way, but you will handle it in a different way, then Raven's magic will not only turn into your costume, but it will also split your personality with the character you're cosplaying as, giving you a split personality with the character. This type of transformation is a bit of a creepy concept to most and play as a fear factor to other people who became their costumes, but for writers who want to write in this guy's story world, this mental change gives them an opportunity to play around with questions like "What would happen if *insert fictional character name here* existed in our world and what will they do if they don't recognized anyone here or the ones that they do know doesn't recognized them?" Anyway, this second type of transformation is also something that greatly concerns my other character for the skit conversation here, it's one of the serious ones though and it's something that I'm going to put in the skits.

Okay then back onto the setting of these skits. After the Raven's mask turn the main character into a huge raven and everyone at the convention into their costumes, all chaos break lose. Eventually it did come under control from the local police force in the city that the convention was held down, but a whole lot of the Xanadu Victims had left the convention far long before the police could arrive but the other half of the victims there were contained in the hotel and everybody there including the hotel stuff was wondering what the world was going on. Though many of the cursed people of Xanadu did not just go around and start wrecking havoc (unless there were people who turned into bad guys and supervillians), there's a majority of them looking everywhere to find a way to change back to normal and that's what my characters are doing in this setting. Which is it, the breif huge explanation of this setting is completed and now I should tell who the characters are for these skits so you might get a good feel of their personalities.

Sarah: A of victim of the Xanadu event that had her turned into Master Tigress of Kung Fu Panda (see, that's what I'm talking about an unoriginal character ). She's a college student who was just attending the convention just because it interested her and had no real intention of being in costume or cosplaying as somebody. She told a very persistent Storm Trooper that she was cosplaying as Master Tigress just to get him off her back because he wouldn't stop asking her and she had to choose "somebody." But because Sarah said that to that Storm Trooper cosplayer the Raven's magic turned her into Master Tigress. She really doesn't like being her and being the center of attention because of the change and random people won't stop asking her for autographs later on when she travels with me. Sarah's the most responsible person out of four possible partners, I could've gone traveling with to look for the cure of the curse. She's also in a hurry to change back to normal too, so it irritates her if I slack off too long in the same town too long or taking too long to pinpoint the exact area of the cure. Sarah also has a deep concern that she might end up like some of the other victims that had lost their previous memories to their costumes, which is her reason for a bit of rushing to find the cures.

Me: I've been affected by the Raven's magic, but no drastic changes in my appearance only in my abilities. I have abilities of an action RPG hero now, and is the only one who has a clue to find out where the cure of the curses are. But since I have RPG powers, I spend alot more time helping random people than I do pinpointing the pieces of the cure, much to Sarah's distress.

Giygas: Someone from the convention had turned into him and has plans to take over the planet, but finds out that the pieces of the cure are connected to me and also a big threat to him as they are the only thing that can stop him. He starts focusing on killing me and trying to stop me on my journey to cure my partner. He'll start focusing on her as well as long as she keeps traveling with me though. He won't be in the skit, but we'll be talking about him as he is the main antagonist in my part of the story in Xanadu.


So what do you guys think of this ad, is there anything I need to work on (besides the title, I'm pretty much selling myself short already so I need to fix that, but you'll run into mean people alot easier here than anywhere else on DA) that will make sense to anyone there? Or do you have ideas or someone that could help me out here with this as well?

The Transformation Quiz

Okay this quiz is a "what" if question and it's mostly about your fur/scalesona, but you can use human personas too. Try to answer these questions okay.

?What would you do if you became your character? (with my answers)

1. How would you react?
I wouldn't care because I can change back to normal. Unless I have big anime eyes or first became a Guilmon, then it would be like "AAAHHHHH!" for a minute.

2. How would you handle the situation?
Depends, if I was at home I would probably tell my brother about it so we could figure this thing out. If it was at a empty room in school I would try to get out and figure out what to do next.

3a. What would you do if it happen (in front of a crowd)?
Run as fast as I can!

3b. (at home or in your room)?
I'll probably lock the room if I turn into a Guilmon in here.

3c. (In front of your family)?
Tell them to calm down, but then again how I am I supposed to know it happen.

3d. (lost at some place such as a building or a forest)?
Try to find a way out of here and get back home and figure things out from there.

4a. What would be the hardest part about your character (physically)?
I wouldn't worry about it, unless I have big eyes . For being a Guilmon, there would be lots of problems; the first thing would be the tail and how could control it and sit with it, the other other problem would be how can I control my claws for fingers without cutting anything.

4b. (powers, if any)?
Trying to concentrate on the magic (I'm easily distracted ) and work on that pyrosphere.

4c. (mentally, like any instinct or personality problems)?
I doubt I'll have any problems with me being a Guilmon unless I really like bread for some strange reason, other than no instincts to mess me up.

4d. (eating habits)?
I think bread will taste better in Guilmon form.

5a. Who could you tell about this transformation (family members) ?
My brothers and maybe my cousin.

5b. (friend, like a next door neighbor, you don't have to say their name) ?
I'm not sure if I have any friends, it's too big of a risk to tell it about to people you're unsure about it.

I would tell my net friends about it and it would be Battosai , Python , and Ray .

6. Would you become a Hero, Villian, or Neutal/Civillian?
Definitly a hero.

7. Will you hide yourself or try to live life as normal as you can?
I can live a normal life as best as I can but I will try to be a superhero too with all these powers I have. *I wanna be a superhero...*

8. What would be the biggest thing to change about your transformation?
I'll probably be living a hero's life from now on, like fighting bad guys and stuff. But I won't be doing protols or any of the sort.

8a. What about your career or future dream?
I may be force to choose between a hero and a game designer. But it probably wouldn't be different as much as a game designer and just stop bad guys that I happen to come across.

9. Can you still talk?
Of course I can still talk, I'm human and as a Guilmon, I'm a Digimon and Digimon are "Digital" monsters of course I can still talk.

10a.There is a cure but...you have to leave on big journey.
Okay, I'll go.

Oh man , that will take forever.

I probably won't take THAT cure since I can switch between a human and a Guilmon when ever I want.

Don't need that, but someone else could use that for something useful.
